Sector 8: Caracciola-Karussell to Brünnchen

Hohe Acht

It is the highest point in Nordschleife. From here to Brünnchen, it becomes a raging downhill section.
The middle and high-speed sections are continuous, so run rhythmically.
In this section, the pavement is old and especially slippery, so you need to be careful.
This corner itself is a simple right corner, so let’s clear the Theory Road.
But don’t use curbs. If you set your foot softly, the loose Chicane front of you may step over the curb.

Hedwigshöhe

Right, left, right. Because of the strong downward slope, the rear load is easy to be removed and it tends to become Overspeed.
Let’s use the left foot brake effectively.
Don’t use curbs. In the worst-case scenario, it would be blown off and straight onto the wall.

Wippermann

The entrance is hard to go up and the exit is soft to go down, so it is very easy to get understeer.
Right after that is the left corner, so it’s not a good idea to stand up and do your best at the risk of going off course.

Eschbach

A slightly tight left is followed by a loose left corner.
When you stand up on the out-in, out-in line, you can get ready for the immediate right corner without sacrificing speed.
There are many cases where people enter an Overspeed and go off the course without turning, so be careful.

Brünnchen

The two right corners that lie on opposite sides of a short line.
The first is down and the second is up.
The curbstone at the exit of each corner is flat, so you will want to use it actively.
Be careful, however, that the course is off. The second exit is a sand trap, so don’t overdo it.
